The decision on whether to buy or make any costume can be incredibly difficult, particularly if you are not exactly keen in the creation department. However, there are ways to get around this. For instance, if you are not exactly the craftiest or most agile person, you can still make a great Halloween costume you will just want to make sure that you keep it simple.

There are tons of different great costume ideas to choose from, and so whether it is for you or your child, you are sure to find something that you love. One of the most popular Halloween costumes of all is the nun costume.

Buying a Nun Costume

If you have thought it over and you decided that you would rather spend a bit of money and buy the nun costume, then you should know you have plenty of options available to you. You can generally find a variety of these costumes in fact at any general Halloween costume store, and some will be more conservative while others are much more revealing.

Making a Nun Costume

On the other hand, if you decided that you want to try making your own nun costume this year, then you will have to make sure you give yourself enough time to work with before Halloween, and make sure you give yourself even a few extra days so that you do not end up having to rush yourself, especially if something comes up during that time.

The first step is to get all the materials and tools that you need together, and for nuns costumes you basically just need a black dress in whichever length you prefer, a couple strips of white felt, and a nun’s hat, which you can generally find at any costume store or you can make yourself if you feel extra energetic.

To make the costume is incredibly simple. All you need to do is glue the strips of felt onto the dress vertically, as they appear on a real nun’s outfit, and then dress yourself in it, put on the hat, and you are ready to go. The shoes and makeup that you should include with the outfit will really depend on what type of look you are going for.

With a more conservative nun, you are obviously not going to want to wear much makeup and you will definitely want some more comfortable shoes. However if you go the other way and dress up as a ‘sexy nun’, then you can throw on some high heels and you will want to be sure to put at least a little bit of makeup on.
